Commercial wastewater treatment solutions up to 1150PE
Commercial wastewater treatment systems, often referred to as large sewage or wastewater treatment plants, provide a safe and efficient solution for managing wastewater generated by schools, hotels, hospitals, airports, industrial buildings, residential areas, and other businesses in Ireland. Designed for locations where connection to a main sewer is not possible or where the local authority requires pre-treatment to ensure environmental compliance and cost-effective wastewater disposal.
✓ Temporarily or permanently treat and dispose of large volumes of wastewater.
✓ Choose a cost-effective solution that minimises running costs and maximises treatment efficiency.
✓ Ensure a reliable solution that can be regularly inspected and complies with local county council regulations.

Design & planning
Selecting the right commercial wastewater treatment system involves careful design and planning to ensure compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Key factors include understanding the application type—whether for housing, industrial, or commercial premises—and calculating the maximum hydraulic and organic loading to determine capacity. Discharge planning is also essential, considering where the treated water will go and whether a discharge licence is required. Regulations often require stringent testing, hydrological assessments, or assimilative capacity tests, especially in sensitive areas. The treatment plant's location must optimise operational efficiency and comply with separation distances and accessibility requirements. Choosing a reliable solution involves evaluating performance, cost, and maintenance needs.

Installation
Our modular tank design allows for easy transport and straightforward installation, even in challenging locations. Each tank comes with pre-fitted lifting straps from the factory, making handling and placement hassle-free. Additionally, all necessary fittings and connections are included with the delivery, ensuring that the installation is completed efficiently. You may also need an external cabinet, control room, chemical dosing, low-pressure pipe network, advanced tertiary filters, or pumping stations, depending on your project, to complete the installation. Our experts provide comprehensive assistance and clear guidelines, helping you complete the installation with confidence.

Inspection & maintenance
Regular service and maintenance are essential for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of wastewater treatment plants. De-sludging intervals should be adhered to based on the system’s capacity and requirements, while ongoing inspections and functional checks help maintain operational efficiency. Key tasks include examining the control panel and fault menu, as well as testing mechanical and electrical components such as the air blower, wastewater pump, valves, high-level alarms, pipework, and the external cabinet. The structural integrity of the system, including the percolation area (if applicable), is also assessed to prevent long-term damage to both the system and the environment.
Additional maintenance activities include flushing and cleaning low-pressure pipe networks or tertiary filters, measuring pH and oxygen levels to optimise air blower performance, conducting sludge volume proportion tests (SV30) to refine de-sludging schedules and sampling effluent for laboratory testing when necessary. With advanced tools like WebMonitor, these systems can be remotely monitored and controlled, allowing immediate detection and resolution of any issues.

Regulations & certification
Commercial wastewater treatment systems up to 50PE require certification under EN12566-3, EPA Code of Practice 2021, S.R. 66:2015, and the Building Regulations Technical Guidance Document H. Larger systems above 50PE will need to be approved by the local authority during the discharge licence and planning application process.
