Heavy rainfall
For the dimensioning of a rainwater seepage system the locally expected precipitation quantity is a decisive factor. The values usually used correspond to precipitation events with a 5-year probability. Seepage systems should be of sufficient dimensions to store and percolate short periods of heavy precipitation (thunderstorms) and long-lasting continuous rain over several hours.
